Shwapnopuron Organisation takes the privacy of its members seriously. This policy sets out what information our member app and website collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have.
1. What we collect
You give us the following when you apply for membership and when your ID card is produced:
- Identity — Name (in Bengali and English), your parents’ names, date of birth, gender, religion and marital status.
- Contact — Mobile number, alternative mobile number, present and permanent address, and a link to your Facebook profile.
- Photograph and signature — Your photograph and signature, for use on your ID card.
- National ID or birth registration number — Used only to verify your membership.
- Health — Your blood group and whether you are willing to donate blood. This is entirely optional.
- Occupation and education — Occupation, educational qualifications, institution, skills and the departments you are interested in.
The app does not collect your phone’s location, contacts, SMS messages or data from other apps. Prayer times are calculated on the phone itself from the district you choose — no location permission is requested for this.
2. Why we collect it
- To verify and approve membership applications.
- To produce member ID cards and certificates.
- To tell you about the organisation’s notices, events and votes.
- To find blood donors in an emergency — only if you have consented to donate.
- To keep account of membership dues and donations.
3. Who can see it
Your information is visible to the organisation’s authorised managing committee and the officers responsible for it. We do not sell any information, nor pass it to advertisers or any third party.
In the donor directory, other members can see your name, blood group and area — that is what the directory is for when blood is needed urgently. You may withdraw your consent to donate at any time from your profile, and your name then leaves the directory.
Voting is secret. Nobody in the organisation — administrators included — can see who voted for whom; the two are kept apart in the system itself.
Your national ID or birth registration number, and any scan of it, are held most securely of all. Neither is displayed anywhere in the app or on the website, and other members cannot see them.
4. Where it is kept
Everything is stored on Shwapnopuron Organisation’s own server. All traffic between the app and the server travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Your password is stored encrypted — not even we can read it.
5. Your rights
- Seeing and correcting — You can view and correct your own information at any time from the profile section of the app.
- Deleting your account — You may ask us to delete your account and personal information. Send a request to the address below with your name and member number, and it will be deleted within 30 days. Records the organisation must keep, such as financial accounts and voting results, may be retained with your name removed.
- Withdrawing consent — You may remove yourself from the donor directory or from notifications at any time.
6. Children
This app is for members of the organisation. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
Any change to this policy will be published on this page and the date above updated. Significant changes will also be announced by notice in the app.
8. Contact
To delete your account and data, make a request from this page. It explains in detail which data is deleted and which is kept for accounting purposes.
